Because of their continued growth, my client is seeking an Estimator with grading AND/OR underground wet utilities. (storm drain, sewer, water)experience. This is a General Contractor specializing in heavy and civil construction as well as earthworks, wet utilities and paving. Offering a benefit package and an outstading company culture!

ESTIMATOR POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for Bidding and Estimating Federal Contracts


  • Cost Estimating, Order Plans and Specs Package, Maintain Bid Log/Job Folders, Prepare Scope of Work Letters
  • Organize Take-Off Information in estimating template
  • Request Vendor pricing for all required materials, equipment, subcontracts, etc.
  • Prepare estimating notes for PM (top 10 list)
  • Complete any required pre-bid submittals.
  • Prepare detailed Bid Proposals with final approved pricing, terms and clarifications for final review and distribution.
  • Act as team leader for project proposals, prepare budget for each job.
  • Prepare and implement Quality Control Plan, Safety Plan, Environmental Protection Plan
  • Research and inquire about perspective project opportunities with clients, owners, Architects, Engineers, and other industry resources.
  • Work with sales associates to pursue and procure projects. Conceptual cost estimating and budgeting.
  • Estimator will Support Project Managers and Superintendents by assisting in preparation of superintendents book, clarification of scope and specifications, assisting with change order justification, documentation and customer communication of change costs.
  • Preconstruction/Post Construction services. Submittals Management, maintain a tracking spreadsheet with status of submittals for each awarded project.


  • Produce historical data file for every project or budget.
  • Maintain "production rate" database of historical field results for all common applications.
  • Prepare requisitions for materials procurement (each project)
  • Provide "bill of materials" for each awarded project (detailed list of all materials required for successful completion of the project)
