The Engineering Systems Lead Programmer/Analyst will be the individual who will be working with business to provide and support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and other solutions that are used by our Engineering community to develop products for Intuitive. A team member who can work with little supervision and be a technical project lead as needed. Ability to technically lead and implement projects in ALM and DevOps Application domain. Lead development and configuration of ALM and DevOps applications such as Polarian, Atlassian software, etc. Able to develop Application to Application integration solutions. Participate and lead discussions with engineers pertaining to process development as it relates to tools used for design. Achieve Project objectives both business and technical and schedule by designing, implementing, testing, and supporting technical application solutions. Coordinate unit, system and integration level test plans, execution, and documentation of results.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Provide the leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks required for the development of applications.
* The individual will be one of the main development resources for the applications and will be working with business closely to understand their needs and articulate the transformation of business needs to software requirements.
* The immediate focus will be around taking charge of ongoing enhancements planned for business in Polarion and Atlassian tools
* Business applications management, including - Spec'ing and implementation of requested changes, Application upgrades/patching, User support, User training when required, Security updates/Access management, Required documentation of all changes
* Configure and customize Polarion ALM Application for Requirements/Test Management
* Implement and Lead Polarion Application Upgrade
* Create test scripts to validate any changes to the Polarion system or to validate new functionality being added
* Implement enhancements requested by business or projects in Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitLab, GitHub and other applications in the DevOps category
* Implement Mobile applications as required for the supported applications based on business need
* Configure SVN, Jenkins, Clarity, Clarity Excel Integrator, and Crucible applications
* Validation of application upgrades by running series of regression tests to ensure all the functionality work correctly
* Lead projects related to data migration as required by business
* Support new tools that are added to the existing tools based on the needs of the Engineering, PMO and other Team's requirement
* Must be able respond to US, EU, APAC, Mexico, and other global users
* Manage open incidents in ServiceNow and make sure that they are being addressed on a timely basis per the departmental SLA
* Report to IT Engineering Ops Manager regularly on the status of the various projects and support incidents
* Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Is able to play the role of IT PM for small- medium sized Rock Projects and lead a team of consultants/ employees. Can also design and implement solutions that have cross functional impacts
* Trains, and develops consultant resources with coaching from Manager
* Leads other analysts (employees and consultants) in projects and delegates tasks and follows up to ensure completion. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex problems in own area.
* Solves problems with cross functional complexity and makes recommendations on problems of greater complexity. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
* Operates within scope of transaction terms and help other team members.
* Determines methods and procedures reviewed by others on new assignments and coordinates activities of other personnel. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
* Accountable for individual contribution and team goals
* Disciplined in decision process, considers ramifications of decisions. Helps project team members and consultants in understanding process.
* Daily actions are consistent with values of organization and the consultants they lead
* Ability to make effective presentations to Managers and Directors, in a small group setting.

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

* Minimum BS or higher in Computer Science or Engineering discipline. MS preferred.
* Minimum 10+ year of experience in supporting business applications mainly in the ALM (Polarion) and DevOps (Atlassian) Applications Environment
* 10+ years' supporting multiple engineering functional groups such as PMO, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Development and Test Lab
* Strong software process discipline including best-practice design, development, testing, and build/deploy disciplines
* High-level communication skills
* Experience in a regulated industry, like medical device, defense, airline, transportation, etc., a plus
* Version control experience with GitHub, SVN, Bitbucket plus
* Very good knowledge of business processes in the ALM / PLM environment
* Experience in Requirements Engineering, System Engineering and Test Engineering
* Experience in Configuration Management, Version Management, Change Management, Defect Tracking, Task management, Project management, Test Management
* Experience with software development discipline, best practices
* Knowledge and experience with understanding and guiding engineering lifecycle/workflow/change notices practices and approaches.
* Experience with integration of Jira-Slack, Jira-Smartsheet, Jira-TestRail, Bitbucket-Slack, Clarity-Hyperion-Taleo is a plus
* Configuration experience of Atlassian tools in Cloud is desired
* Configuration of MKS, Minitab, Goldfire, Fisheye+, TestRail Test Management Platform, Datasweep, Clarify, QAD, Vuforia, MS Guides and other AR Applications will be a plus
* Must be an experienced problem solver
* Hands on experience with using the following: Java, JavaScript, Python, XML, XSD, XSLT, C++
* Knowledge and/or experience with web services and web technologies such as CSS, Bootstrap, etc.
* Independent experience on architecture, design and development of Web GUI applications
* Hands on experience with delivering and supporting customer focused and results-based solutions
* Must be able to learn rapidly, adapt easily to change, and work on varying assignments.
* Experience with SQL, Mongo DB, Postgres SQL and Oracle DB is preferred
* Experience with SAAS- Google App engine, and PAAS like AWS, Azure is a plus
* Knowledge and experience with Windchill PLM, SolidWorks, CREO a plus
* Knowledge of Data Science modelling and Machine learning algorithms is preferable
* Experience in working in project environment
* Experience with end user support
* Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Unix and / or MAC OS X environments a plus.
* Knowledge of Windows server 2008 or greater
* Strong understanding of relational databases
* Engineering background is a plus
* Must have strong organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be able to work independently and self-directed, as well as, within a team.
* Successful candidate should be flexible and able to complete projects outside normal daily duties as needed.
