Sustainability Integrity Collegiality Responsiveness Reliability PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Under the direction of the Foreman, the responsibilities of the Welder/Fabricator position include fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing stainless steel and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel material. Weld stainless steel components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions. Work includes set-up and laying out work using jigs, fixtures, or hand layouts to fabricate parts and assemblies. Work with team members to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component assemblies. Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job's requirements. Weld, finish and inspect welds to meet product specifications. Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders. Willingness to be cross-trained and perform the duties of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position. Inspect tools and equipment before use and if any equipment needs repairs notify supervisor/lead or maintenance department. Follow safety procedures and policies. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Familiar with a variety of welding concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts. Must be thoroughly familiar with MIG and TIG welding operations. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment. Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal. Ability to take instruction and perform work. Ability to follow safety procedures and policies creating a safe working environment for self and others. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Two (2) Year diploma in welding program or equivalent work experience. Minimum two (2) years MIG/TIG welding experience preferred. Basic math skills with the ability to read tape measures and blueprints required. Stainless steel welding and manufacturing experience required. Sanitary finishing and ASME code experience a plus. Willingness to occasionally work on field service crews a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands of the position include being able to stand for long periods of time, operate tools while maneuvering inside and outside of vessels, able to wear necessary protective gear, and being able to lift 40 lbs.
