Position Summary:

Responsible for the proactive coordination and oversight of operations, activities and third-party staff required to maintain a clean, safe and secure work environment across multiple sites. Orders and manages consumables, materials and equipment required to support these operations. Performs hands-on duties such as janitorial, technical trade skills and minor repairs.

Follows best practices and performs essential janitorial duties required to maintain a clean environment; Proactively identifies needs/problems around the facility and provides solutions with minimal direction

Maintains a list of active approved vendors to remediate facility issues and provides escorts to contractors/vendors when on site in alignment with established security protocol

Works with vendor life cycle to include onboarding, management and purchase orders

Responsible for ensuring vendors are providing cost effective sustainable solutions; Oversees third party janitorial vendors to ensure facilities are clean and safe for all staff

Performs light to medium maintenance on systems on Company owned properties such as HVAC; works with hand tools to make minor repairs to the facilities

Receives, tracks and resolves service tickets in a timely manner, enters purchase orders and tracks invoices related to purchase orders, orders and maintains all supplies and equipment; Research products to balance effectiveness and budget

Participates in campus security through trained observation , access monitoring response to alerts (e.g. door props, alarms, denied access etc.) and monitoring and inspecting buildings and premises for fire, security, and safety issues; maintains up to date Safety Data Sheets

Maintains knowledge of current best practices in security and facilities maintenance

Coordinates with vendors and other impacted parties regarding all facility projects and relays information related to inventory, maintenance, issues/concerns and personnel to management

Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility

Performs supervisory duties in the absence of direct manager

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

5+ years of experience in facilities administration and personnel management

7+ years of experience in a maintenance/related technical trade (e.g. HVAC)

Knowledgeable of industry specific terms

Knowledgeable of functional building management systems including mechanical/HVAC systems

Basic knowledge of health and safety

Basic Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Ability to use a multi meter and other hand-held diagnostic equipment

Ability to make critical decisions in response to emergent situations, with limited oversight, as it pertains to the facilities and respond to facility emergencies

Ability to be available outside of normal business hours and schedule to assist with facility needs

Work Environment:

The position may involve some physical work such as pushing, crawling or lifting up to 40 lbs.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office environment, in an individual workstation, using telephone and computer.

Employee may be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
