Job Summary

This entry level position provides support and coordination of customer and trucking activities at the URP Reclamation Site as well as remote mine operations. The Flagger/Spotter position sets up traffic control and then assists contract haulers from exiting the mine/ reclamation sites. The spotter position assists customer trucks to ensure they unload soils in the correct location at the mine/ reclamation site. This position may also be required to manually pick up debris found in truck loads to ensure quality of the mine/ reclamation activities. The Flagger/Spotter will also use monitoring equipment to confirm environmental compliance of import loads. This position also requires housekeeping and site clean up as directed by Foreman and/or Site Management.

Main Responsibilities

Set up traffic control
Complete needed site and area inspections
Guide haulers out of mine site by flagging public traffic
Using environmental monitors to check loads as directed by Foreman and/or Site Manager
Guide customer trucks to proper dump areas at Reclamation Sites
Assist crew with clean up and housekeeping around sites
Monitor reclamation customer and contract hauler loads and remove debris (asphalt, trash, wood, etc)
Other duties as outlined by Foreman and/or Site Manager


Previous Flagger training preferred
Complete Flagger Certification and MSHA Training
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive company vehicle
Understands MSHA and OSHA regulations
Must have a strong, team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies
Ability to work well with others
Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
Must be able to follow oral and written plans and directions
