Operate overhead radio or pendulum controlled cranes for lifting, transporting and positioning of materials, parts and supplies. Use Conditioning departmental procedures for identifying and storing all products. ( T.I. OP-Cond)
Responsible for following work schedules to keep all equipment loaded with the proper material to maximize workflow. This requires the ability to plan movement of material in the proper sequence for maintaining optimum level of production and on time performance.
Maintain work records, schedules, reports and perform other duties as required.
Maintain proper level of supplies for department.
Load trucks and co-ordinate shipments as necessary for outside conversion or other Allvac plants.
Exercise care in operation to detect indication of slipping or shifting loads, incorrect hitching or slinging or other safety hazards. Overhead cranes are operated in congested areas and require full attention on the machinery and personnel at all times. Failure to perform this operation could cause harm to fellow co-workers or equipment.
Operate other equipment as required by supervision in an effort to maintain material flow, relieve bottlenecks and ship material on time.
Keep all solids from saws, chips from peelers, grindings, polish and shotblast fines, moved to proper storage areas. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow all prescribed safety regulations.
All department 157 crane operators must be trained and tested with both written and practical tests under the Conditioning material handler training program.
As required or directed, perform various duties to assist in conditioning operations.
Detect and report improper operation, defective equipment and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
General high school diploma or GED
Must be able to maintain IME certification by fulfilling all requirements.
Experience over three months and up to six months
Abide by the ethical standards and requirements established by the Ethics code. Employees must be familiar with the Allvac Quality policy, and this policy must be used as the guide in performing every aspect of the job.
Able to read, write and comply with instructions and established routines.
