Hiring an Intermediate Architect to join a major New York based architectural design firm specializing in corporate workplace, retail, and media design.

Environment:

  • HYBRID OFFICE SCHEDULE - ANY 3 DAYS IN OFFICE
  • Casual dress code.

Description:

  • Support the project team in development of design drawings, construction documents and drawing coordination
  • Coordinate working drawings with project consultants
  • Perform and coordinate site surveys, prepare due diligence reports, and building code reviews
  • Interpret design concepts by partnering with the Design Team and translate them into workable construction drawings, evaluate alternatives to develop solutions, and maintain quality technical and design control
  • Review and level construction bids
  • Perform Construction Administration duties, including site visits, RFI's, shop drawing and change order reviews. Travel may be required.
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with project managers, consultants and team members regarding project status and is completed within schedule and budget
  • May work with client to confirm objectives and formulate options. May prepare and conduct design and technical presentations for team and/or clients
  • May participate in marketing efforts, including presentations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years professional experience
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in architecture or equivalent
  • Experience in Workplace, Retail or Media/Broadcast
  • Extensive experience in developing Design & Construction Documents
  • Thorough knowledge of construction materials, standards, codes
  • Onsite construction field experience required
  • Ability to conceptualize a project schedule, and meet project deadlines
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD. Hand sketching ability is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, consultants, internal team and contractor
