Job Summary : Under limited supervision, the Field Supervisor directs production crews' work during the green season and snow season to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently, on budget, and following company standards. Acts as a first-level liaison to clients and vendors to ensure job satisfaction and advance company-wide goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

Supervise production crews

  • Communicate, support, and advance company mission and vision to staff and clients. Dispatch and receive crews in person each day to coordinate daily work assignments.
  • Work with internal partners to train crews on proper safety procedures, equipment usage, and proper landscape techniques; reinforces all instruction through consistent application of learning activities.
  • Mento, and develop Foreman and their skill sets, and encourage them to develop their crews' skill sets.
  • Evaluation of employee skills, and coordination of training when necessary.
  • Manage the crew(s)

Project Management

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Foreman, Contractor, and other relevant figures to devise plans for efficiently completing work.
  • Review production reports to keep jobs on budget and communicate changes in production schedules promptly.
  • Travels to and inspects work sites before and after productions and warranty period to ensure crew productivity, safety, and work quality are performed by standards.
  • Work with purchasing, yard, and shop staff to ensure material and equipment are available when needed.
  • Assist in the contract bidding process, working with internal partners to provide accurate and realistic bids.
  • Perform project completion review with key Foreman, Project Managers, and other relevant parties to discuss successes and failures of the job.
  • Devising work schedules and implementing deadlines.
  • Ensuring that quality standards are upheld.
  • Conducting performance reviews.
  • Ordering material and coordinating trucks for deliveries, if necessary.
  • Ensure that work is being performed by the project schedule.
  • Ensuring compliance with union regulations.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum 2 years of previous landscape production and crew management experience. Experience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word) and landscape management software; Class "C" Driver's License within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

Ability to foster strong relationshi ps with new existing clients and to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal customers. Skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities with and ability to effectively manage time and work for self and others. Firm knowledge of landscape business operations. Advance knowledge of landscape principles, horticulture practices, and extensive plant knowledge. Ability to keep to production schedules and budgets. Flexibility to work varied hours/days to oversee job operations. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, Spanish proficiency desired. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience noise/vibrations in the field
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Oversee the scheduling of work routes to ensure all properties are serviced in a timely manner
  • Reach overhead and below the knees
  • Complete the life safety checklist, including the fire-pump run test and generator run test
  • Fulfill salon and store orders
  • Ensure the grounds are maintained and manicured, consistent with the finest theme parks in the area
  • Providing customer service by dealing with an issue that requires immediate attention
  • Perform routine trash collection and removal
  • Prepare purchase orders, requisitions and contracts for landscaping equipment, inventory and landscaping supplies
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for key account accomplishments and new and different requests
  • Conduct a quality check of work in progress or upon completion to ensure acceptability
  • Cultivating lawns, or pruning trees and shrubs
  • Work in cooperation with Maintenance Department
  • Instruct workers on enhancement/installation work projects to ensure completion by proposed completion dates
  • Participate in branch recruitment plan to fulfill staffing needs li
