The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the Asset Care of Cidery Equipment and Facilities at Austin Eastciders' Cidery and two Tap Rooms. This role will provide technical leadership and support to Cidery Technicians on all shifts and ensure that scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance are performed to maintain overall Cidery Equipment Availability. The Maintenance Technician will lead all continuous improvement and reliability activities for Cidery Equipment, Facilities, and Cidery Technician Proficiency. Represent the core values of AEC through daily interactions with customers, general public, and team members. In preparation for future promotion(s), take an active role and interest in learning positions other than your own and the industry as a whole. Utilize the knowledge of those currently in the position, as well as the person to whom you currently report. Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues. Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical and other systems continue operating properly. Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training. Maintain Cidery Equipment Machine Availability through best practices in Preventive Maintenance, Reliability, Spare Parts Management, and Cidery Technician Proficiency. Reinforce and Sustain Austin Eastciders Safety Policies, PM Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures outlined in the AEC Employee Handbook. Conduct all your activities in accordance to local, state, and federal liquor control regulations. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as they pertain to Cidery Equipment and Facilities Asset Care. Develop the Austin Eastciders Asset Care Program with the support of the Cidery Technicians, Head Cidermaker, and Operations Manager. Plan, order, and organize spare parts inventory as it pertains to production equipment and facility needs. Develop shift-centric technicians to handle in the moment fixes as well as equipment maintenance and sanitation routines (when applicable). Respond to site equipment emergencies as it pertains to line stoppage or safety issues. Responsible for the completion of all tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by Austin Eastciders Management and Executive Leadership Teams. Team Participation Sense of Urgency Engagement Work Environment This job operates in an industrial setting. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required to work in, or travel through Production Areas. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Physical Demands This is a management and leadership role in an industrial setting. Both administrative and hands-on activity is required. Some travel is expected for this position. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Previous Maintenance Technician experience in an industrial setting, preferably in consumer-packaged goods and ideally in alcohol beverage Comfortable troubleshooting ladder logic equipment (all of our equipment is ladder logic) Pipework or plumbing experience is a plus. A high level of initiative and drive, natural sense of ownership for projects and duties. Communication skills for credibility at all levels of the organization. PI
