Description

We are seeking a Manager of Sustainable Engineering to coordinate and manage engineering support to meet product performance specifications and manufacturing goals, develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and labeling, troubleshoot and resolve production problems, and develop and support production outsourcing and materials vendors. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise and lead Manufacturing Engineers and Product Engineers, assign projects, monitors results, and provides support and feedback
  • Organize and manage projects that positively impact costs and product yields while maintaining both near and long-term road maps
  • Ensure effective new product and process introduction, consistent device performance and quality, improve cycle time, tool availability, process/product yield, and drive cost reduction, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Manage engineering support to identify and support production outsourcing and materials vendors, oversee development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, and identify and implement all capital equipment requirements
  • Identifies manufacturing process improvements, analyzes solutions, and implements the best options
  • Support all sustaining engineering activities for products manufactured in the plant and support product transfer activities into manufacturing
  • Establish and support a work environment and culture of continuous improvement that supports company-wide productivity improvement initiatives and foster a culture of engineering excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Must have 5 years of engineering management experience and at least 5 years of experience within medical device or related electronics manufacturing operation
  • Knowledge of ISO13485 and its application in the manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of equipment process validation requirements, lean manufacturing techniques, and manufacturing equipment design and operation is required
  • Ability to analyze data to understand trends and root cause and inherent vision for production improvements
  • Must have a working knowledge of applied statistics and structured problem-solving methods; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (Black Belt preferred)
  • Ability to develop and write Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures that are compliant to medical device industry standards is required
  • Must have excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to completion
