The SS White Engineering Department is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on the development of CNC ground dental products. The ideal candidate will have experience with product development and process improvement in a high-volume manufacturing setting. The candidate should have a strong understanding of CNC grinding, specifically small parts grinding (

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Develop and improve grinding programs based on product blueprints and specifications

• Optimize grinding speeds & feeds while finding ways to reduce overall cycle times

• Optimize grinding wheel design, material, and grit

• Work with equipment suppliers to make necessary upgrades to fixturing and machinery

• Collaborate with the quality department to develop the inspection plan for the critical features and dimensions

• Troubleshoots by using Root Cause Analysis - identifying root cause and establishing corrective actions

• Supports production by identifying and implementing process improvements and cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Analysis

• Improves manufacturing processes by creating, modifying, and maintaining specifications; including 2D blueprints and 3D models

• Evaluates existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes

• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

• Creates processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas

• Designs, develops, and tests and/or sources cost-justified tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing

• Participates in cross-functional new product and/or process development teams and ensures product transition from development to production

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering and 3 to 5 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

• Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, industrial or automation engineering.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering drawings

• Small parts CNC Grinding Experience

• Proficient in MS Office Suite including Visio and Project

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

• Ability to think creatively

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with dental products - specifically endodontic files

• Experience working with Nickel Titanium (NITI)

• Quality Assurance or Design for Quality background

• PLC experience

• Experience working in an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 facility

• Experience with FANUC Robotics

• AutoCAD, SolidWorks experience preferred

• Bilingual in Spanish

• Lean manufacturing experience

• 6 sigma experience (green belt or higher)
