Selectek is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer responsible for assisting the engineering staff by producing parts, assemblies, drawings, and bills of material for equipment. Additional responsibilities will be to interact with the production team to identify and document changes, then generate engineering change orders to make corrections or incorporate design upgrades. Required:Associates Degree or equivalent experience5+years of mechanical design experience3+ years using SolidWorksStrong understanding of precision machining, fabrication, and finishing methods for metals, especially aluminum.Capable of designing parts by sheet metal, machined stock, and weldmentsWorking knowledge of how to create robust piece parts and assembly models, how to properly layout piece part and assembly drawings, how to thoroughly dimension and annotate drawings, and how to organize and maintain a logical CAD file systemWorking knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance and ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing PracticesAny experience with a file management vault such as PDM, Windchill, or PLM 360Working knowledge of MS Office productsConscientious, detail oriented, good communicator, and able to handle a fast-paced environmentStrong working knowledge of packaging electronic equipment considering cabling, thermal needs, manufacturing costs, and ease of assembly and serviceabilityPreferred:1+ years of experience with PDM software1+ years of experience with Agile softwareThis is a United States government position where US citizenship required.
