Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.OPERATIONS ENGINEER (STARSHIP)The Starship Operations Engineer is a cross disciplinary role within the Starship Product team whose mission is to define and execute an operations plan that ties all functions (finance, production, engineering, supply chain, customer operations) together a common plan that meets the development and production targets laid out by the program. This individual will help create all planning targets set within our internal system, track progress against the schedule (actuals and forecasts), and liaise with relevant stakeholders to identify any potential Bill of Material (BOM) configuration issues, supply gaps, and production performance to formulate and take any necessary mitigating actions. To be successful in this role, the Starship Operations Engineer will be able to interpret signals from our internal system, understand critical path drivers and threats, formulate recommendations, and effectively communicate this to the leadership team.RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with cross-departmental stakeholders to establish and implement a plan that enables SpaceX to meet or exceed company-wide goals, and performance initiatives.Be a forcing function of through direct and indirect leadership of strategic initiatives.Provide clear recommendations to drive production-wide priorities that align with executive leadership expectationsInterface with finance and engineering to understand demand requirements and analyze impacts to the supply and production planLead executive/stakeholder agreements and approved consensus plan via a semi-frequent executive leadership forum to ensure that all teams in the process are alignedUnderstand the entire engineering-to-production system, processes, and capabilities and ensure production needs are accurately reflected into the top-level master schedule plan while driving process stabilization and improvement through innovative process solutionsCoordinate efforts to align relevant parties of upcoming schedule, configuration or hardware allocations changes and make sure our systems accurately signal these changes to all teamsChampion continuous improvement projects using appropriate metrics and data sources.Work autonomouslyBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in an engineering or mathematics discipline2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing, operations, supply chain management, or engineering rolePREFERRED SKILLS:Proficiency with statistics, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and visualizationDemonstrated record of successfully managing complex projects/initiativesManagement consulting experienceExperience in high-volume manufacturing environmentsExperience using MRP/ERP systemsExperience developing and managing program operating plans and schedulesExperience taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner to senior leadershipBasic experience with SQL programming and databasesBasic experience with PowerBIAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPointADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Willing to regularly travel between SpaceX Sites (primarily Hawthorne and Brownsville) as needed (up to 50%)Must be available for all shifts and extended hours.
