Mix materials for the spray painting or protective coating for a variety of moderately complicated operation on various details and/or assemblies including sealing. Works under the direction of the Group Lead or designee.
This position is for second shift 3:30PM-12:00AM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work from production schedules, work orders, blueprints, SPC data, and written and/or verbal instructions, maintaining the highest level of quality within schedule and budget constraints.
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in surface preparation, cleanliness, and masking. Responsible for maintaining equipment and applying coatings to very close tolerances.
Must be knowledgeable in the use of inspection equipment required to measure coating thickness. Employee will obtain materials, mix and record necessary information as instructed. Must calculate what procedure to follow based on humidity, temperature, etc.
Assist lower classification of employees and the training of new employees. Follow work schedule and maintain the same.
Diagnose and report troubled areas. Quality must be exceptional, in the event of rework employee will perform the same.
Assist group leader. Perform limited duties and responsibilities in the absence of the same. Follow all safety instructions. Maintain records and sign off for completed work as instructed or required. Obtain and dispose of completed work accordingly.
- High school diploma or GED required. 2 years of applied trades training preferred.
- Must be able to use shop mathematics.
- Must be able to interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
- Proficiency with a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a production environment required dealing with surface paint
