The Maintenance Manager will lead mechanical maintenance procedures, including but not limited to machining, welding and fabrication, PORI plant operations and actions of shift managers and their crews responsible maintaining and repairing all mechanical and electrical equipment in the operating units. The ideal candidate must have excellent leadership and communication skills and excels working in a team environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Administers the Safety and Health, Environmental and Quality programs for the Mechanical Maintenance sections.
Develops, trains, and supervises the salaried and hourly personnel assigned to the Mechanical Maintenance sections.
Prepares and oversees preventive and predictive maintenance plans to keep units maintained and efficiently repair problems to minimize downtime.
Participates in the planning / scheduling of maintenance outage schedules and coordinates procuring and managing outside resources to augment exiting hourly personnel.
Conducts process evaluations for determination of quality defect root cause.
Develops and manages the annual maintenance budget.
Interacts with Operations and Quality personnel for the improvement of quality issues and operating delays.
Evaluates processes for possible improvements (capital expenditure and/or process modifications).
Organizes, prioritizes, and reviews section work assignments to include:
Assigning work orders to shops.
Establishing project implementation and completion dates as necessary.
Communicating the plant needs.

Assists in troubleshooting problems in the plant.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field
7 years of work experience within a manufacturing environment
Possesses team building, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively with a team-oriented, fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university.
5+ years of experience dealing with manufacturing maintenance, preference given to candidates with steel industry experience
Successful track record working with a represented workforce in a heavy industrial setting
Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations
Knowledge of safety and health polices including key components of the OSHA regulations
