As a Structural Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, evaluate, and certify our cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems. Your technical duties involve the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Must-haves:

Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, NX NASTRAN, FEMAP, or ANSYS
Extensive experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
Extensive experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Superior understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal Analysis
Extensive experience with FAA and/or Military Certification processes and requirements
Understanding of engineering principles and practices
Extensive experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Ability to work and lead multi disciplinary design and development teams
Extensive knowledge of Static and/or Dynamic Analyses
Extensive experience with aerospace structural design, fabrication, and repair methods for military and/or commercial aircraft
Extensive experience in the design, development and analyses of complex and/or large aerospace structures
Familiarity with military and commercial aerospace catalog of standards, fasteners, and material properties
Extensive experience authoring substantiation reports
Background in the Aviation and Defense Industry
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances

Preferred:

Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes
Extensive experience in the support of aerospace fabrication and installation activities in an operations liaison role
Extensive knowledge and familiarity regarding the environmental compatibility of equipment and installations per MIL STD 810 and/or RTCA DO 160
Familiarity with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
Experience with Solidworks and PLM
