Design of various types of structures including simple to complex roadway bridges over roadways and waterways, retaining walls, and culverts.
Preparation of structure plans for structures in Illinois.
Develop contract special provisions and cost estimates for structures.
Assist with bridge inspections and development of inspection reports.
Assist with bridge evaluations for the development of rehabilitation/repair plans.
Implementation of corporate Quality Assurance Plan.
Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff.
Mentors junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs).
Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with IDOT and with their Bureau of Bridges and Structures.
Proficiency with MicroStation and other structural engineering analysis software.
Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Specifications for transportation structures.
Experience with Advance Typical Structures.
