Basic Function

LyondellBasell is searching for a IE&A Maintenance Supervisor for the Channelview, TX Manufacturing Complex, located 18 short miles from Downtown Houston. Our 4,000-acre Channelview Complex consists of two olefin units at the north side facility that manufacture ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. The south side facility uses many of these products to produce propylene oxide, styrene monomer and other derivatives. This is a direct-hire position with competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package and pension plan.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to assigned personnel so as to ensure that maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently to high quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and support for technicians to develop technical and leadership skills.
  • Collaborate with business unit counterparts to identify future maintenance requirements and continuously improve the effectiveness of maintenance services.
  • Responsible for the execution of routine and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Continuously seek out and drive cost reduction projects and best practices related to maintenance functions and work management systems.
  • Participate in the development of quality job plans by working with planners and participating in field walk through.
  • Participate in the development of weekly and daily work schedules.
  • Reviewing schedules and providing constructability feedback, as necessary.
  • Leading tool-box Safety Meetings, communicating schedule changes, as necessary, and reviewing job scopes with technicians.
  • Interacting with work permitting process as needed and insuring that all applicable safety procedures are followed.

Min. Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • A minimum of seven years' experience, preferably in a petrochemical, refining, manufacturing or equivalent environment or an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline with five years of experience.
  • Strong supervisory and team motivation skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to delegate and report on activities;
  • Proficient personal computer skills, application software skills, and experience with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of plant policies, specifications, and procedures;
  • Strong planning and organization skills;
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and turnarounds (day or night) with short notice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience is preferred
  • SAP and Excel experience is preferred
