Reporting to the engineering organization, the Technical Writer is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the processes and procedures required to efficiently design and develop HYTORC products. As updates are made review and incorporation into the current ISO documentation will be necessary. The successful candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, likes to be challenged, and values the opportunity to make a difference. Additionally, the candidate is responsible for the understanding of and adherence to the processes within the development organization. The person in this position interacts with various cross functional teams and is responsible for creating an environment in which the product development process is well understood, repeatable, and produces quality products exceeding customer expectations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist/Develop/Refine all engineering procedures, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and documentation
  • Contribute to and maintain the ISO 9001 procedures and processes as they relate to engineering/product development
  • Develop and maintain configuration control procedures for all products
  • Coach employees through procedural initiatives
  • Consistently reinforce quality practices throughout the organization
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions as necessary
  • Continually improve and/or enhance company's quality system as it relates to product development
  • Support and coordinate verification, validation activities, process monitoring, Conduct audits, document findings and corrective action recommendations, if necessary. Communicate findings with appropriate management in a timely fashion so behaviors can be addressed and corrected
  • Ensure that the product development process is followed establishing consistency across all projects
  • Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards

Job Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Management
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in design engineering of electro-mechanical products
  • Experience in relevant product development process/procedure development
  • Experience with ISO 9001 process and documentation
  • Demonstrated experience in efficiently growing product development organizations
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
