Microchip San Jose design center is seekingan Engineering Technician who will support various TE teams including Analog, Timing & Control and Ethernet Groups.Tasks include:Maintain a Traceable system and the LabATE Hardware tracking and storageAssembly and repairs of test fixturesKitting Bill of materialsPerforms a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of NP developmental requirements in pre-production projects. Works from customized build request with rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.Perform manual soldering, attach passive components, perform rework on boards and change componentsWash, bake and quality check after assemblyStock and Maintain inventory of parts for NPD and repairsEnsures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review.conducts physical inventories.Work with Assembly and PCB FAB Vendors, process Po's & maintain BPO'sProcesses purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliersBack up support for Shipping & receiving of HW.Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storingJob Requirements Candidate must be able to work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform assembly functions. Candidate must knowhow to interpret builds and BOM (Bill of Material). A basicunderstanding of electronic circuits is required. Must be proficient using hand tools like tweezers, soldering irons etc. and understanding of test fixtures is also desired.Candidate should take an active role in being a team player.
